| MINISTRIES
For about 4 years now, FISHNETS has ongoing work among the poor people living
in different areas in Makati City and in Maricaban, Pasay City. It covers two different ministries, namely:
1. EDUCATION
2. HEALTHCARE

EDUCATION
MISSION
We teach the children basic writing and reading in preparation for primary education. We tutor and assist them with their regular school and homework. We tutor parents in preparation for the Alternative Learning Studies and government exams.
We send them to schools and universities and provide them necessary educational needs.
We work with and partner with schools and universities to strengthen our scholarship programs. These efforts are working towards the improvement of the educational and social responsibilities, realization of the importance of education and empower the families to bring about change in their lives.
We also work with and partner with NGOs, government agencies and organizations from private sectors toward improving literacy and education amongst the Urban Poor families. They assist by providing necessary material and monetary support for the educational needs. It promotes a sense of responsibility, togetherness and self-worth and helps them influence their community to be more responsive to families’ educational needs.
We partner with churches to provide spiritual guidance and bring forth message of hope to the communities. It also encourages member of the community to be more responsive to the urban poor families needs
KIDS - BITUING BULILIT(Little Star)
STRATEGY
Weekly (every Saturday) activity mainly focused on teaching Bible Lessons and assisting, tutoring and teaching the children with their school lessons and studies.

OF BENEFICIARIES
There are about 30 children attending the children school in each
area or a total of about 120-150 children.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES:
- Praisin’ Kids Town – carnival themed, fun-filled activity where kids can just play and have fun. Area will be filled with game booths, food kiosk, and prizes. Praisin’ Kids Town visits them every August.
- Christmas Party – A party to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Children enjoy the games and food and the prizes and gifts that await them. Grocery Packs are given to the kids to bring home to their families. Christmas presents are given as well.
- Balik Eskwela – the kids’ end of summer activity. Fun-filled activities where children can enjoy their last summer days and be excited for school. School supplies will be given to them as gifts.
YOUTH TO ADULTS - WORKING HANDS
STRATEGY
Special activities will be given to teach and educate youth and adults easy-on-the-budget income generating projects for the family.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Volunteer as teachers, marshals, cooks and food
servers in each area. The need is still great and more volunteers
and missionaries are welcome.

| YOUTH - SCHOLARSHIP
Deserving individuals are sent to schools and/or universities. Food allowances, transportation and miscellaneous fees are also provided for. We also tutor No-Read-No-Write parents and encouraging them to take the alternative learning exam to receive their elementary and/or high school diplomas.

HEALTHCARE
MISSION
We teach the parents basic healthcare and family planning. We conduct seminars to enhance healthcare and family planning education. We educate teens on early pregnancy. We train both parents and children proper hygiene. We educate families nutritious eating and healthy alternatives. We teach families easy-on-the-budget nutritious food.
We provide primary healthcare through medical and dental mission. We offer available vitamins to children. We recommend healthy living for sickness prevention. We make immunization available for children.

These efforts are working towards the improvement of healthcare and social responsibilities, realization of the importance of healthcare and empower the families to bring about change in their lives.

They assist by providing necessary materials and monetary support for the healthcare needs. OPERATION LUKE
Focused on assisting and educating parents, teens and children with their basic healthcare necessities. Conducting family planning, child rearing and parenting, healthy living, sex education and early pregnancy seminars are also part of the agenda.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
- Loving Touch/Hygiene Day – Twice a year activity where kids are cleanse from head to toe. Children are bathed, their nails are clipped, ears are cleaned, hairs are cut, lice are removed, and wounds are cleaned. Height, weight, and body nourishment checkups, as well as dental checkups are also part of this activity. Healthcare Kit, which includes toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo, soap, cotton swabs, plasters, and face towels, are provided.
- Healthy Hat – a quarterly activity where families are educated on the importance of healthy living and sanitation. Family planning, child rearing and parenting, sex education and early pregnancy are taught.
- OPLAN BP- a monthly medical assistance program where vital stats are being checked, recorded and followed-up on.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Volunteers to help educate the families with proper hygien
and healthcare.
Provide basic healthcare and medical needs such as thermometers, BP apparatus, cottons, bandages, gauze, etc.
